  • 12 slices Country Hearth Cinnamon Burst Bread
  • 1½ sticks butter, melted
  • One-fourth cup granulated sugar
  • One-half teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 (21-oz) cans apple pie filling
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Whipped cream


Preheat oven to 375°

Brush butter on both sides of 6 slices of bread then place in bottom of 9×13 inch glass baking dish. Mix together one-fourth cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half over bread slices. Top bread slices with pie filling and sprinkle with remaining sugar cinnamon mixture. Cut remaining bread into half-inch-inch cubes and toss with remaining butter. Place on top of filling and press down gently. Whisk together egg whites and remaining sugar. Brush over top of the dish. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbling. Serve warm topped with whipped cream.
