Serves 4-6 Ingredients:
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 large jalapeno peppers, seeded and thinly sliced lengthwise
  • 8 bun-length hot dogs
  • 1 cup (4-oz) shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 8 Village Hearth Old Fashioned Hot Dog Buns, split and toasted
  • Mayonnaise or whipped cream cheese (optional)

Directions: Preheat oven to 450°

Fry bacon until it just begins to brown. Drain and cool on paper toweling.

Melt butter in small frying pan over medium heat. Add peppers and cook just until they begin to soften. Set aside.

Make a slit lengthwise in each hot dog.

Fill pockets with cheese, approximately 1 tablespoon each.

Wrap one piece of bacon around each hot dog, securing ends with toothpicks if needed.

Bake about 10 minutes until hot dog is hot and the bacon is crispy.

Serve on buns; top with peppers and mayo or cream cheese.
