Makes 8 burgers Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 large sweet yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 16 slices American cheese
  • 16 slices cooked thick cut bacon
  • Leaf lettuce
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • 8 Village Hearth Classic Buns
 
Directions: Gently combine first 3 ingredients. Chill for 1 hour. Meanwhile, fry onion slices in butter until caramelized. Form meat mixture into 8 patties. Grill over medium heat for approximately 5 – 6 minutes on each side or until internal temperature reaches 160°. Top each burger with two slices of cheese, cook until cheese melts. Place onions on bun bottoms; top with burger, bacon, tomato slices and lettuce.
