Serves 6 Ingredients:
  •  2 yellow bell peppers
  •  2 red bell peppers
  •  1 tablespoon olive oil
  •  1 large red onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
  •  2 large cloves garlic, crushed
  •  6 mild Italian link sausages
  •  1 package Village Hearth Wisconsin White Brat Buns
Directions: Cut peppers lengthwise into thin strips. Heat oil in skillet. Add peppers, onion and garlic; cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover tightly and continue cooking 40 – 45 minutes or until mixture is very soft and almost creamy. If mixture becomes too dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoons water. Remove the sausages from the refrigerator 10 – 15 minutes before cooking. Preheat oven to 400°. Place sausages on foil lined pizza pan. Bake on the middle rack turning links after 10 minutes. Continue baking an additional 10 – 15 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink in the middle. Open buns and toast lightly under broiler. Place sausages in buns and top generously with pepper mixture.
