Serves 8 Ingredients:
  • 8 large hot dogs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
  • 8 Village Hearth Light Wheat Hot Dog Buns
  • 1/2 cup thousand island salad dressing
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese, cut in half diagonally
 
Directions: Butterfly hot dogs (cutting length-wise about half-way through until hot dog can lay flat). Melt butter in large frying pan over medium heat. Fry hot dogs approximately 4 – 5 minutes on each side until hot and browned. 

Place sauerkraut in glass bowl; cover and microwave until hot.

 Carefully open buns so they are lying almost flat. Spread 1 tablespoon of salad dressing on each bun; then top with hot dog and ¼ cup sauerkraut. Place two cheese halves on each hot dog. Place hot dogs on large cookie sheet and place under broiler until cheese is melted and beginning to bubble.
