  • Fresh bratwurst
  • Beer
  • Sliced onions (optional) sauteed in butter or vegetable oil
  • Village Hearth Hot Dog Buns
  Toppings:
  • Brown mustard
  • Yellow mustard
  • Sauerkraut
  • Chopped onions
  • Relish
  • Ketchup (if you really have to)
  Directions: Preheat grill to medium heat. Cook the brats by gently boiling in beer. Cook as many as you’d like, just make sure they’re covered with beer. Cook until brats are no longer pink and have turned a whitish color. Grill the brats until the skins are starting to crack and they’re nicely browned. Place grilled brats and onions (optional) in a large slow cooker. Fill half way with fresh beer. Cook on high for about 2 hours to heat beer. Keep warm on low setting for several hours, stirring occasionally. Serve in Village Hearth Buns with toppings of your choice.
