Serves 12 Ingredients:
  • 12 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 slices Lakeland Texas Toast
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 ounces)
  • 10 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions: Grease a 13″ x 9″ baking dish. Cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar. Cut the bread into 3/4″ cubes. Arrange half the bread in the dish and top with cream cheese mixture. Spoon pie filling over cheese, top with remaining bread. In a large bowl, mix together eggs, milk, vanilla, and syrup. Pour over the bread, cover and refrigerate overnight or for 2 or more hours. Remove from fridge and preheat oven to 350°. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue baking for 25-30 minutes until the center is firm and the top is slightly browned. Let cool for 10 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
