Serves: 4 – 6 
Ingredients:
  • 1 (7.25 oz) package macaroni and cheese dinner, prepared per instructions
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup Cheez Whiz or other cheese spread
  • 1 cup Italian cheese blend
  • 2 cups Country Hearth Seasoned Croutons that have been pulsed in a food processor to crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 4 cups peanut oil of other high heat oil for frying, or more as needed
Directions: Prepare macaroni and cheese as directed on package. While still hot, stir in the cheeses until melted. Place in a bowl covered with a paper towel and refrigerate until firm, about 4 hours. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Shape the macaroni mixture into 1 1/2″ balls. Place in freezer for 45 – 60 minutes. Combine the crouton crumbs with paprika, chili powder, black pepper, sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper in a shallow dish. Beat the eggs with the milk in a small bowl. Heat oil in a large saucepan or deep fryer to 350°. Remove mac ‘n cheese balls from freezer, coat in the egg wash, then dredge in breading, then repeat. Fry in small batches until golden brown, 3 – 5 minutes. Drain on paper toweling and serve hot.
