Serves 6 Ingredients:
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6 slices Artisan Hearth Rustic White Bread
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Directions: In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, melted butter, and maple syrup. Spread evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle walnuts over the sugar mixture. Arrange bread slices in a single layer. In a medium bowl, whisk together the orange zest, juice, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and eggs. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate for a least one hour, or overnight. Remove dish from refrigerator and preheat oven to 350°. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
