Serves 12 Ingredients:
  • 2 8-oz packages cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 11 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 12 slices Village Hearth Premium White Bread
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Directions: Grease a 13″ x 9″ baking dish. Using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and sugar on medium high until light and fluffy. Mix in one egg and the lemon juice, set aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together remaining eggs, milk, cream, syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut the bread slices in half. Layer half in bottom of baking dish. Spread two-thirds of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bread. Place half the strawberries on top of cream cheese. Repeat layering with remaining bread slices, cream cheese mixture, and strawberries. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top, pressing down a bit to ensure all the bread is soaked. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Remove from fridge and preheat oven to 350°. Keep covered with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue baking for another 30 minutes until the center is firm and the top is slightly browned. Let cool for 10 – 15 minutes.
