- 1 12-count package Village Hearth Sweet Hawaiian Dinner Rolls
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Prepare a 7×11″ baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
Cut the rolls into 1/2″ pieces and arrange inside baking dish. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips over roll pieces.
Microwave remaining butter and chocolate chips on high for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave for a few seconds more or until completely melted. Stir in heavy cream. Set aside.
Whisk together beaten eggs, milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla, and salt, then add butter and chocolate mixture. Pour over roll pieces. Press down gentle to make sure all roll pieces are covered. Let set for 15 minutes while oven is preheating to 350 degrees.
Bake pudding for 25 – 30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. If desired, dust with powdered sugar and top with whipped or ice cream.
